Day 1 : Yangon Arrival

yangon 12Upon your arrival at Yangon Airport, our guide will meet you with Welcoming Signage and then escort you to your hotel (if room available).

Yangon (formerly Rangoon) is the largest city in Myanmar (formerly Burma). A mix of colonial architecture, modern high-rises and gilded Buddhist pagodas define its skyline.

The National Museum – with extensive collection of ancient artifacts, art works and historic memorabilia on display in 14 halls in a splendid five-storey building.

In the afternoon, enjoy the water front of busy Yangon River brief public ferry ride and after a stroll at the Maha Bandoola Park to see colonial-style high court and city hall, head to the lively Indian Town and Chinatown.

In the evening, enjoy the sunset to the Great Shwedagone Pagoda built the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics.

Day 2 : Yangon-Golden Rock

kyaikhtiyoe 02Today, we excursion to Kyaikhtiyo (185 km, 4 hours drive). Kyaiktiyo Pagoda is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a small pagoda built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by devotees.

En route visit at Bago, Kyaikkhawine Monastery where a thousand monks living in this monastery (We can arrange to donate for lunch to the monks and the Buddhist monks requisites). Buddhist monks, however, eat only two meals a day. The sixth of the ten basic precepts that order monastic life is to abstain from taking “untimely” meals – with “timely” defined as between dawn and noon. So, the last meal of the day, at 11:00 am, is an important one.

The Kanbawzathardi palace of King Bayinnaung is some of the places of interests and then proceed to Kyaikhtiyo. Kyaikhtiyo is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists.

From the base camp (Kinpun Sakan) take a public open truck ride up to the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda (45 minutes). This is where you will find the famous “; Golden Rock”;, a huge boulder precariously perched on the edge of a cliff face seemingly defying gravity. It is believed that Buddha’s hair is precisely placed on the Golden Rock stupa thereby keeping its fine balance. Enjoy the panoramic view and walk back from the top of the hill to the base camp

Day3 : Golden Rock-Yangon

yangon 01This morning visit a local market at Kyaikhto or Waw village. Also visit dry fish making villag on the way. Afterwards begin your return journey to Yangon.

Explore Bogyoke (Scott) Market to see Myanmar’s wide range of handicrafts and exotic souvenirs.

Day 4 : Yangon departure

After breakfast, enjoy your free time until flight out of Myanmar. Today we will say goodbye to you at the airport.
