Day 1 : Bagan (-/L/D)
Upon arrival, embark the ship at Irrawaddy Princess jetty. Welcome cocktail in the saloon. Then, visit to Nyaung Oo Market and proceed to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including Shwezigon pagoda, built in King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; and Arnanda Temple, with four standing Buddha images; Htilominlo Pagoda and visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer ware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby Myinkaba village. Then, proceed to watch the sunset on the Shwe San Daw Pagoda. Both lunch and dinner are local restaurant. More overnight at on board.
Day 2 : Bagan (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visits to Tayokepyay Temple in Min Nan Thu Village; Phaya Thone Zu and Nandamanya Temples noted for their exquisite murals of 13th century and sightseeing the breaking temple around Bagan. In the afternoon, an excursion to farming villages around Bagan will give you an insight to the rural life of the local people. Late afternoon, some of the more off the beaten track temple sites. Experience the traditional way of travelling and transportation still commonly used by the rural people of Myanmar. Both lunch and dinner are local restaurant. More overnight stay at on board.
Day 3 : Bagan- Mandalay (By Boat) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, cast off time is 07:00 am at Irrawaddy Princess jetty, welcome drink and briefing, the board will sail upstream. In the afternoon stop in at the typical river village. Both lunch and dinner and more overnight on board.
Day 4 : River Village- Yandabo Village (B/L/D)
In the early morning, continuous upstream to Yandabo Village. Dependant on the base economy is famous for the production of terracotta from the riverbank clay. We see the pottery making process at various stages. Yandabo, historically recognized for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty which took place under a tree on the riverbank in 1826 between the British and Royal Burmese House-hold of Ava. After a short excursion, return back on board and continuous upstream and moor overnight on board.
Day 5 : Yandabo Village- Mandalay (B/L/D)
Early morning, continue sailing upstream and arrive to Mandalay. Disembark at about 09:30 am. Upon arrival Mandalay, Experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including the Shwe Inbin Monastry; the Golden Palace monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda the world’s largest book made of marble. Visits also one of the most revered religious monuments in the Mahamuni Pagoda. Mandalay is also a major crafts center. Visit a Kalaga Tapestries craftsmen’s shop before proceeding to Mandalay Hill for sunset. Both lunch and dinner are local restaurant. More overnight stay on board.
Day 6 : Mandalay- Amarapura – Inwa – Mandalay (B/L/D)
After breakfast, excursion to Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. Visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to 200 year old U Bein Teak Bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal Capital, Since then it is noted for silk and cotton weaving. Visit a traditional hand-woven silk workshop. Lunch at local restaurant (to your own account). Excursion to Royal Capital of Inwa (AVA), 20 km from Mandalay, reached by 45 minutes drive and a short boat trip. Visit by horse-drawn carriage include Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remain of the palace building nickname “ the leaning tower of Ava” Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monestery, built of brick and stucco and Bargayar Monestery famous for its impressive ornate woodcarving and teak posts. Both lunch and dinner are local restaurant. More overnight stay at on board.
Day 7 : Mandalay- Kyauk Myaung – Malare (B/L/D)
After breakfast, cast off and sail through upstream. Approx: 17:00, we visiting to the spectacular potteries- making village of Kyauk Myaung, and see the manufacture stages of the famous 50 Gallons (200 Litres) pots (1.5 hour visit). The, sail through upstream and moor over night at on board near Malare.
Day 8 : Near Malare- Tagaung- Near Kathar (B/L/D)
Cast off early morning, we explore by foot the ancient city of Tagaung viewing the fortifications, a famous nat or spirit shrine and the archaeological area and the fortifications. Continue cruising for the rest of day, Moor overnight on board.
Day 9 : Kathar (B/L/D)
Cast off early morning, sail through upstream, arrive Katha. Upon arrival, the setting of the George Orwell’s book “ Burmese Days” and also the place where hundreds of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company ships were scuttled in 1942 before the Japanese could seize them. We explore this pleasant colonial town surrounded by hills plenty of hardwood forests and “ Elephant Logging Camp” located west of Katha. Both lunch and dinner are on board. Moor overnight on board.
Day 10 : Kathar- Htigyaint – Near Tagaung (B/L/D)
After breakfast, continue sailing downstream to Htigyaint, visit to local market and we climb the pagoda hill at Htigyaint with its stunning views of the Irrawaddy. Both lunch and dinner are on board. Moor overnight on board near Tagaung.
Day 11 : Near Tagaung – Kyauk Myaung (B/L/D)
After breakfast, sailing downstream through and cruising the whole day. Along the river view you can see the villages on the river bank. In the late afternoon, arrive to Kyauk Myaung. Both lunch and dinner are on board. Moor overnight on board.
Day 12 : Kyauk Myaung – Mingun
After breakfast, sailing downstream the Ayeyarwaddy River and arrive to Mingun. Visits will start with the Mingun Bell, a magnificient sight of the world’s largest un-cracked bell weighing 90 tons, and will continue with Hsinbyume Paya as well as the unfinished Mingun Paya, built as one of the world’s largest chedis by King Bodaw Paya. After dinner guests can enjoy a Traditional Dance on the sundeck (if available). Both lunch and dinner are on board.Moor overnight on board.
Day 13 : Mingun- Sagaing (B/L/D)
After breakfast, continues downstream to Sagaing. Visit to Sagaing for about two and half hour’s excursion by coach. Visiting the most important Buddhist Religion site. Both lunch and dinner are on board. Moor overnight on board.
Day 14 : Sagaing- Shwe Kyat Yat (B/-/-)
After breakfast, sail to Shwe Kyat Yat Jetty. Disembark time is round about 9:00am.
Remarks: Sightseeing may be changed due to the water level and weather condition.
